BetDaq Exchange is one of the oldest and most renowned online sports betting exchanges. It was originally founded in 2000, as Global Betting Exchange Alderney Limited in Alderney by Irish businessman Dermot Desmond and it was a member of the Global Betting Exchange. Desmond’s original idea was to create an online platform that will allow punters to bet each other over the internet.
The company was then sold to Ladbrokes in 2013 and it currently holds a massive 7% of the online betting exchange market share and is one of the largest operators in the world. Following the Ladbrokes Gala Coral merger in 2016, BetDaq is now part of the UK’s largest bookmaking company.
It is estimated that more than £75 million worth of bets are processed through BetDaq every week and almost £4 billion per year. In addition to a betting exchange, BetDaq also operates an online casino and offers NFL live streaming via a dedicated website. BetDaq struck a deal with the popular Scottish football club Celtic and became its online betting sponsor. The BetDaq exchange also sponsors London’s Charlton Athletic and few other sports clubs and events.
BetDaq Exchange Review – Features of the site
Layout and Interface
The site is rather simple without too many graphic elements that would distract you. The background is clean white and purple is used for stressing certain elements and on the rare banners and on the menus. On the top horizontal menu you will find some of the specific services offered by BetDaq, including both betting-related services, as well as a link to the casino and the virtual betting platform.
On the left side there’s a menu which features the most popular links, i.e. the most popular betting categories. The categories can change, depending on what’s popular at the moment. Many of the events that are featured in the listed categories are also shown on the main page, along with the available option and the amounts you’d be able to back or lay.
As you know there are certain differences between exchange betting and standard bookmaker betting. The number of available sports, and markets for each particular event at betting exchanges are fewer compared to the number of sports and markets at standard bookmakers, but there are still a lot of available options. And in many cases the profit margin is at least slightly higher when you do your betting at an exchange.
BetDaq offers betting on more than 15 different categories, most of which are sports, but you could still bet on other things as well. In addition to horse and greyhound racing, football, cricket and tennis, you can also bet on mixed martial arts, Aussie rules football and Gaelic sports. In addition to sports, you can also bet on politics. The range of available markets depends on the current political situation. For example, if there’s an upcoming UK General Election, then you would be able to bet on which party is going to win a majority. Virtual sports betting is offered as well.

The number of available markets for each event depends on the type of event and its popularity. Understandably, you will have quite a few options at your disposal if you wish to bet on football. Even outright betting is available, you could lay or back a team to win the title in the upcoming or current Premier League season.
When it comes to individual matches, you can expect over 20 available markets per match. Even more at around 50 or more when the match has a higher degree of popularity and attracts more attention. There are standard match markets (win/draw/win), but also goal markets, correct score, half time score, Asian handicap bets, as well as special markets. The special markets include backing or laying whether there will be a red card during the match, whether there’ll be a hat-trick, as well as betting on the total number of cards, or corners during the match.
When you select an individual match, you will notice a ‘Rules’ button, and if you click on it, all specific information regarding that event will be displayed, as well as general information on that type of betting and particular markets. Some markets are offered at a lower 2% commission, instead of the standard 5%. That information is also displayed.
Below each market, you will see a number of icons that signify what options are/will be available for that market. If you move your cursor over each icon, the details will be presented. A clock (stopwatch) icon indicates that the game will be available for live betting, whereas the icon that shows rows of coins indicates that the cash out option will be available.
The ‘M’ icon tells you that you can combine selections of that particular market with other selections and then eventually place a multiple bet. If you all like to place a multiple bet, all selections on your bet slip need to have the multiple option enabled. You can still place individual bets on all or some of the selections that are included in your multiple.
BetDaq Free Bet Bonuses and Promotions
2% Commission for All Sports Back or Lay
Unlike bookmakers, betting exchanges don’t offer a lot of promotions, as the main incentive to bet at an exchange instead of a bookmaker is the fact that the odds are a lot lower. However, BetDaq still offers a free bet bonus to all its new customers.
The bonus is valid for 30 days, but it doesn’t apply to multiple bets, or bets wagered at enhanced odds. When the 30 days expire, the standard 2% commission will be applied to all subsequent bets. If you claim this bonus, you will not be able to claim any other promotion during the 30-day period.
2% Commission on Tennis for All time
If you enjoy betting on tennis, you will be able to place 2% commission bets all the time, not just during the first 30 days. Lay or back bets on tennis markets, both pre-match and live will be subject to no commission, and there is no limit on the amount that you could wager. However, multiple bets and bets at enhanced odds are not subject to the promotion.
Virtual Sports Free £10 Bet
There is another promotion for punters who enjoy placing wagers on virtual sports. By using the V1010 code when you place your first virtual sports bet, you are eligible to receive a free bet worth £10, if your original bet loses. Qualifying bets must be placed at evens odds or higher and when you receive the free bet you must use it within 7 days. The free bet has to be placed at odds of at least 1.50 and if your bet wins, you will not receive the free bet stake, just the returns.
BetDaq offers live betting on a number of events. The available markets are pretty much similar to the markets offered pre-match, but you need to be aware that the odds change by the second, depending on what is going in game. On the main page, there is a menu which includes all the major in-play events which are available for betting, and when you click on each individual sport you will be able to see the events that are available for in-play betting.
BetDaq allows you to bet using your mobile device, whether it is a smartphone or a tablet. It is very easy, you just need to download the appropriate app. The iOS app can be downloaded directly from the App Store, whereas the Android app is available via a link. If you can’t manage, you can simply text BetDaq and they will send you all necessary information. There’s another option, you can visit the website in your mobile browser, log in using your existing details and then start betting.
BetDaq accepts a range of popular payment options, including Visa and MasterCard, as well as PayPal, Skrill and Neteller. Except in the case where your method of choice doesn’t allow withdrawals, you will be able to withdraw to the same account/card from which the initial deposit was made. BetDaq requires you to verify your identity and age, before you are allowed to make deposits, and especially withdrawals.
The minimum wagering amount at BetDaq for a multiple or a single bet is £1. Whereas if you’re placing a system bet, you’ll need to wager at least 5p per line. The winning amount for multiples is limited to £250,000.
You can contact BetDaq by phone, email or live chat, it’s all up to you and which option you prefer. Phone is the most direct option, but live chat is also quite handy, whereas if your matter is not urgent, you can simply send an email and wait for the response. You can also follow them on Twitter for more information.
In terms of security, you can be certain that the BetDaq exchange adheres to the highest standards. All payments are protected, and the company works under licences issued by the authorities of Gibraltar and the UK Gambling Commission for customers who reside in the UK.
