Arsenal loan deal for Dani Ceballos still on

Updated: 6th October 2024

Arsenal's loan deal for Real Madrid central midfielder Dani Ceballos is still on despite a horrific injury to club mate Marco Asensio in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly played in Washington, USA.

Asensio tore his cruciate ligament over and above suffering a damage to his left kneecap and is definitely ruled out for the season thus raising concerns whether Real will be able to loan out Ceballos to the Gunners.

But such doubts seem to have been cleared with the Spanish giants still agreeing to the deal and Arsenal getting ready to announce the arrival of the 22-year old forward to the Emirates.

Ceballos is perceived to be a good replacement for Mesut Ozil whose place at the Emirates looks under a cloud after a couple of absolutely lacklustre seasons.

Meanwhile rumours of a sensational Aubameyang move to Manchester United have been quashed with Arsenal boss announcing that the 30-year old Gabon international will stay on at the Emirates.

There was some talk earlier of Emery wanting to offload the Gunners' striker for £70 million just to shore up Arsenal's depleted kitty.

The Red Devils were said to be willing to part with around £60 million for the former Dortmund striker.

Arsenal signed Aubameyang for around £57 million from Borussia Dortmund and the Gabonese went on to become Premier League's top scorer for 2018-19 despite the club's mediocre show for the season.

Meanwhile both Gareth Bale and Real Madrid have rejected an offer from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning that would have guaranteed the Welshman £15 million each season on a two-year contract.

Bale is expected to leave Real before the end of the transfer window expiry of July 31 with manager Zinedine Zidane speaking openly about how close he is to an exit.

In what looked like a done deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes at the Old Trafford. there's been a shocking U-turn to United's hot pursuit for the Portuguese youngster.

The United management are indecisive as to which players will be leaving Old Trafford in the next few weeks, which is what is causing them to stutter on the Fernandes deal.

Fernandes has expressed his desire to move to England and scored in Sporting's 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Thursday.

The Harry Maguire saga still carries on with Leicester City holding onto the 26-year old central defender until their valuation of £80 million is met.

The management at Old Trafford is working hard on Maguire's transfer breakthrough and have prioritised a deal after having a £70million bid rejected earlier this month.

United are reportedly continuing talks but Leicester sources say the clubs are still ‘miles apart' from reaching an agreement.
