Arsenal loan deal for Dani Ceballos still on Updated for October 2024

Arsenal's loan deal for Real Madrid central midfielder Dani Ceballos is still on despite a horrific injury to club mate Marco Asensio in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly played in Washington, USA.

Asensio tore his cruciate ligament over and above suffering a damage to his left kneecap and is definitely ruled out for the season thus raising concerns whether Real will be able to loan out Ceballos to the Gunners.

But such doubts seem to have been cleared with the Spanish giants still agreeing to the deal and Arsenal getting ready to announce the arrival of the 22-year old forward to the Emirates.

Ceballos is perceived to be a good replacement for Mesut Ozil whose place at the Emirates looks under a cloud after a couple of absolutely lacklustre seasons.

Meanwhile rumours of a sensational Aubameyang move to Manchester United have been quashed with Arsenal boss announcing that the 30-year old Gabon international will stay on at the Emirates.

There was some talk earlier of Emery wanting to offload the Gunners' striker for £70 million just to shore up Arsenal's depleted kitty.

The Red Devils were said to be willing to part with around £60 million for the former Dortmund striker.

Arsenal signed Aubameyang for around £57 million from Borussia Dortmund and the Gabonese went on to become Premier League's top scorer for 2018-19 despite the club's mediocre show for the season.
