Arsenal Gunning for Zaha and No Bail out for Bale and Sanchez Updated for April 2025

Arsenal making a £40 million Bid for Palace's Wilfried Zaha; Gareth Bale and Alexis Sanchez may go for FREE
[fcrp_feat_sc sc_id=”19469″]Arsenal are making an aggressive bid of £40million for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha despite the management at Selhurst Park valuing the Ivorian at double of that for £80 million.
Unai Emery is desperate to sign the winger and is persuading the Gunners' board to break the bank for him. Zaha, on the other hand, always cherished a dream of joining Arsenal from a very young age, but at the same time is grateful for the kind of love and support the Palace fans have given him over the seasons.
If the 26-year old were to agree to a deal elsewhere, it would be the second major exit from Selhurst Park after Aaron Wan-Bissaka's £50 million move to Manchester United last weekend.
Which is why the Eagles management is not willing to let go off their prized forward.
As for Arsenal, failure to qualify for the Champions League has cost the club dearly resulting in the North London club having just £45 million to spend on players this summer.
Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour is of the opinion that he would sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fund a move for Zaha. However, he did add that if it meant losing top scoring Aubameyang to Man United, then he’d think twice.
However, there are reports coming out of the Emirates that if the Gunners cannot land Zaha, they could make a move for French international and Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir who is believed to be going at a bargain rate of £30 million.
Ex-Lyon boss Bruno Genesio recently revealed how frustrated Fekir was following a failed move to Liverpool and there's a general feeling at the French club that he could settle for just anything.
So desperate are Real Madrid and Manchester United to get rid of Gareth Bale and Alexis Sanchez respectively, that they are open to letting both players leave on FREE transfers.
Bale's time with Los Blancos was numbered the moment Zinedine Zidane stepped in as manager.
The French legend simply doesn't find any place for Bale in his plans for the upcoming season.
Sanchez has been even a bigger headache for United, costing them as much as £505,000-a-week.
The 30-year old Chilean has made no impact at Old Trafford since his advent to the club in January 2018 from Arsenal.
Sanchez who is currently playing for Chile in the ongoing Copa America, could find few takers as clubs would find it almost impossible to match the steep wages paid to him at United. Reportedly, United may well be willing to write-off any fee and even offer to pay some of his wages just to get him away from Old Trafford like they did to Rooney when they allowed him to move to Everton.
As for the 29-year Bale, such is the package involving the Welshman (£600,000-a-week) that few clubs have the resources to pay that kind of money week-after-week or come up with a sum to pay Real Madrid.
Reports are that Gareth Bale has been offered the chance to return on loan to Tottenham Hotspur, the club he had left six years ago for a then world-record transfer fee of £86 million.
Real Madrid may be amenable to an offer where a club can afford £250,000 a week in wages for the four-time Champion Leagues winner PLUS a £10 million fee for a season.
Interestingly Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett still claims that he wants to be around and “see out” his contract that expires in 2022. Bale would earn in excess of £100 million at Real in the time he has left even if he doesn’t play, a situation the management at Bernabeu want to avoid at all COST.
