Chelsea transfer news; PSG boss Thomas Tuchel to get the boot Updated for November 2024

Chelsea transfer news
With the combined £109 million acquisitions of German duo Timo Werner and Kai Werner not clicking to expectations of late, Chelsea are now on the lookout for more firepower as they train their guns on Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland for next summer's transfer window.
The 20-year old Norwegian international has been in sensational form for his club already getting 17 goals from 14 appearances this season so far, thus making him the top choice on Frank Lampard's wish list.
Antonio Rudiger will ponder on his future at Stamford Bridge after Monday evening's game against Arsenal. The German defender has hardly spent time on the field featuring in only one Premier League game and five across all competitions in the 2020-21 season.
Wing-back Marcos Alonso is another player who has featured sparingly for the Blues (only 3 games in the season so far) and seems all set for a loan move to Atletico Madrid in January.
Chelsea's bid for 19-year old Ecuadorian international, Moises Caicedo, has fallen flat with Manchester United snaring the teenager for a reported fee of £4.5million. Apart from Chelsea, clubs like Brighton and Newcastle had also evinced interest in Caicedo.
The youngster who plays for a suburban club of Quito, Independiente del Valle, has also featured in four international fixtures for his country, scoring one goal.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel to get the boot
Meanwhile away in the French capital, it's been widely reported that Paris St Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has got the marching orders. Kylian Mbappe's public farewell of the club's German coach is considered a strong pointer for things to come at Parc Des Princes.
“Unfortunately it’s the law of soccer but no one will forget your time here,” Mbappe wrote on Instagram late Thursday.
“Thank you, coach.”
Mbappe also thanked three of Tuchel's assistants, including Arno Michels, who responded: “Thanks Kylian, it was a great pleasure.”
All this has happened while the PSG are yet to officially confirm Tuchel's sacking.
Although the 47-year old German took the Parisienne club to the final of the Champions' League last season, a poor start to the domestic Ligue 1 seems to be casting a shadow over his tenure at PSG.
Losses at home to Lyon and Olympique Marseille for the first time in more than a decade may have counted against him and the club is still on the 3rd place of Ligue 1 after 17 games, which is something of a rarity for a side accustomed to stay at the top at all times.
Sources also said Tuchel held meetings with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo, and it was decided to replace him last week due to his tension with the latter and also for a lack of playing style.
Reports suggest that the man to replace him is most likely to be ex-Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino. The 48-year old Argentine who spent five years with the London outfit, has reportedly been in negotiations with PSG officials for two weeks.
Despite Pochettino not having won any silverware in his 12-year career as manager, the management at Paris have a high regard for his abilities.
