Chelsea will look forward to return to winning ways as they get ready to host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, the 3rd of October.

Frank Lampard's men have had a difficult week beginning with the 3-3 draw against West Brom where they had to come from being three goals behind to draw level and then following it up with an exit from the Carabao Cup, losing to Tottenham on penalties.

While the Blues will be itching to get back on track at Stamford Bridge, Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace will also be looking ahead to rectify the wrongs after having lost to Everton at home last weekend.

Till then, the Eagles had a good start to the season, winning both their opening Premier League fixtures against Southampton and more significantly against Manchester United 1-3 away at Old Trafford.

Lampard has been under some pressure to deliver after owner Roman Abramovich splurged a mind-numbing £200million on six new acquisitions.

With attacking riches boasting of the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Olivier Giroud, Lampard has no room for excuses.

This is not taking into account Ajax-import Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic both out to injuries. Problems at the back still persist as was evident when West Brom shipped in three past the Blues.

New signing from Paris St Germain Brazilian Thiago Silva considered to be one of the best defenders in the world is yet to find his feet while Kurt Zouma is nowhere near his best.

The dependable Antonio Rudiger is caught up in contract-extension issues and thus ignored.

With Palace getting a goal in each of their outings this season it's hard not to see them finding the back of the Chelsea net at least once.

The Blues best scoring bet will lie on the electric Timo Werner who found his first goal in the EFL Cup clash against Tottenham.

The German international has been by far the Blues liveliest player upfront and much will depend on him to deliver the goods for his side on Saturday.

Despite a couple of disappointing results, Lampard's men are online bookmakers favourites to take the 3rd October game given the attacking riches they possess.

The Eagles on the other hand will be eager to get one over their London rivals away from home but their 2-1 loss against Everton showed their attack can be stifled.

Chelsea showed character in their fight-back against West Brom after being three down and it is expected that their defence will tighten up going into Saturday's game.

The Blues have a splendid past against their forthcoming opponents having won in all of their previous 5 encounters since 2017.
