Third-placed Chelsea look all-assured to finish in the Top Four after their 2-1 win over Manchester City last Saturday away at the Etihad stadium.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are on the 9th and are on the verge of missing out on a European competition for the first time in 25 years.

The Gunners come to the Stamford Bridge clash on the back of Premier League wins over Newcastle and West Bromwich but that has not helped their cause as they are still 3 points behind 8th placed Everton who have an extra game in hand.

Tuchel's men, by contrast, are on a seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions during which time they have shipped in a mere two goals.

Team News

For Chelsea, midfielder Mateo Kovacic will have to pass a fitness test before he could start on Wednesday.

Andreas Christensen will be absent at the back having sustained a thigh injury in Saturday's win over Manchester City. Kurt Zouma is expected to be given a start in place of the injured Christensen while Thiago Silva enjoys an extended break.

Young Billy Gilmour whom Tuchel played for the entire 90 minutes against City could make way for the returning Jorginho while Kai Havertz is a likely candidate to lead the line over Timo Werner upfront.

For Arsenal, David Luiz (hamstring issue), Pablo Mari (ankle) and Granit Xhaka (groin) are not expected back soon. Emile Smith Rowe who limped out with a hamstring injury in the win against West Brom last weekend could make way for Martin Odegaard.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should earn a recall having fully recovered from a bout of malaria while Alexandre Lacazette should be back from his injury spell and replace Gabriel Martinelli upfront.

Thomas Partey who featured as a substitute in midweek games could come in to replace Dani Ceballos in the middle while Kieran Tierney should be fit enough to start in a left-back role.  Bukayo Saka, in such an event, could be rested.

Chelsea probable starting XI:

Mendy (goal); Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Ziyech, Mount; Havertz

Arsenal probable starting XI:

Leno (goal); Chambers, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Elneny; Pepe, Odegaard, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Chelsea vs Arsenal Prediction

While Arsenal enjoyed success against a beleaguered Lampard's Chelsea in December, facing the transformed outfit under Tuchel could be a different proposition altogether.

The Blues defense have so far spent 630 minutes of top-flight football at Stamford Bridge without being scored against.

Given the inconsistent form of the Gunners this year, it's hard to see them get anything past Chelsea.

A 2-0 score is what most bookmakers online are predicting in favour of Chelsea on Wednesday.
