After a fortnight-long international break, the Premier League season re-starts with a bang on Saturday, October 20, with traditional foes Chelsea and Manchester United locking horns at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's Chances

Chelsea have done exceptionally well so far under new manager Maurizio Sarri this season and almost head the Premier League table with 20 points.

Chelsea's last 2 outings was an emphatic win over Southampton 0-3 and a somewhat hard-fought one over a very unfancied Hungarian club MOL Vidi in a Europa League clash.

Chelsea are expected to be in full strength for the crucial Saturday clash with Sarri expected to stick to a 4-3-3 formation.

The forward trio of Eden Hazard, Olivier Giroud and Willian will look to break down a suspect United defense that has conceded in all but one of their last 8 Premier League outings, this despite having one of the best goal-keepers in the world in the form of David de Gea.

Ross Barkley, Jorginho and N'goloKante will make up the mid-field three. Barkley has just come out of a very good outing against Spain for his country, England, creating one of the goals in the Three Lions' impressive 0-3 away win on Monday.

The Blues will be missing the services of Antonio Rudiger, out with a groin injury ahead of one of Germany's UEFA Nations League fixture last week.

Manchester United's Chances

A beleaguered Manchester United under Jose Mourinho will make the trip to South West London expecting to spring a surprise, but their recent struggles in all forms of competition suggest that it could be an uphill task.

Of the front three in a 4-3-3 formation, only Marcus Rashford seems to be in superb form as he displayed with a goal for England in a Nations League clash against Spain.

Anthony Martial is beginning to look good on the wings but Alexis Sanchez may start off in the young French forward's place. Sanchez scored a late winner and saved the Reds Devils from an embarrassing draw against relegation candidates Newcastle a fortnight ago in their own backyard, Old Trafford.

United ace striker RomeluLukaku could be returning to form, breaking a 6-match goal-less drought with a double strike against Switzerland in the Nations League.

Paul Pogba has been lucky to be around despite his mediocre performances of late. Juan Mata could come in for Scott McTominay in the mid-field to give the United attack that desired edge.

Martial and Rashford have been fast on the wings and effective with their crosses, but Lukaku's poor conversion has left much to be desired. The back four of Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Ashley Young will be severely tested by the pace of Hazard & co. and it would be surprising not to see United concede a goal or two in Saturday's game.

Coach Jose Mourinho's men who are in the 8th spot with 13 points desperately need a win. Even a victory will keep them where they are on the table with 6th-placed and 7th placed Bournemouth and Wolverhampton looking probable winners in their home outings against struggling Southampton and Watford respectively.

Who will win Chelsea vs Manchester United?

The Red Devils have lost in all their previous 4 visits to Stamford Bridge and not even scored in any of those.

The trend is expected to continue as bookmakers' odd suggest. A 2-0 or 3-0 win for the hosts seems a distinct possibility.
