A must win for Man United

Fred has offered his backing to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

He also noted that the game against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night was a ‘must win’ for the club.

After getting three points from a possible six, United can’t afford to slip up any further, and Fred knows that.

“It’s a very important game,” Fred told Sky Sports News.

“This week we’ve been working, focusing on this game, we want to go out and get the win in front of our home fans.

“We know Tottenham are a great team but we need to get the win if we are to aspire to win the league.

“The Premier League is a great league and there are a lot of great teams and Brighton were better than Man United.

“They got early goals which we didn’t manage to achieve, we improved but unfortunately this wasn’t enough for a win or a draw.

“Going into the next game we want to be focused and we want to win so we can stay in the race for the title.”

Pogba’s attitude needs work

One thing that was clear during the loss to Brighton was that the players needed to give more.

Paul Pogba said as much, after claiming his attitude wasn’t good enough.

Now, against Spurs, United will be looking to get three points and get back on track.

Fred is a Mourinho fan

Fred also offered his backing to under fire manager Jose Mourinho.

The manager has come under a huge amount of pressure since the summer, and it seems that Fred wants to carry on working with Mourinho.

The backing of his players will come as a huge relief to Mourinho, especially given the struggles he’s had with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

Fred added: “I’m really happy to be working with Jose Mourinho he’s a great person and he’s always keen to communicate with the squad and help people to be communicative regarding what they’re to do on the pitch.

“I’m really happy to be working with him and I hope that I’ll be working for him for a while to come.”
