Leicester City v Liverpool – Foxes dismal recent form against Red’s to continue
Updated: 30th September 2023
2020-21 EPL preview: Leicester City v Liverpool – King Power stadium – Saturday, 13th February 2021 – 12:30 hrs BST
Brendan Rodgers' Foxes get ready to host Liverpool at the King Power stadium on Saturday for a significant Premier league fixture. Leicester City go into the February 13th clash on the back of a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion that saw them progress to the Final 8 of the FA Cup courtesy a 94th minute goal from Kelechi Iheanacho.
Jurgen Klopp's Reds on the other hand will still be licking their wounds from a 1-4 thrashing meted out to them by a rampant Manchester City last weekend. Both the teams are in the midst of a rough patch with Liverpool especially having won just two of their last five Premier League outings and losing three of those.

Leicester will go into the home clash without midfielder Dennis Praet and defenders Wesley Fofana, Wes Morgan and Timothy Castagne. The appearance of the very impressive James Justin of the back also looks doubtful. Striker Ayoze Perez's is unlikely to start given that Jamie Vardy has returned to full fitness.
Liverpool will be as usual without the long-term absentees Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip at the back and also the young forward Diogo Jota – all out owing to major injuries. Midfielder Naby Keita too is ruled out. Klopp will probable forced to start with the same eleven he fielded against Manchester City given the limited options he has.
Leicester City probable XI in a 4-2-3-1 formation: Kasper Schmeichel (goal), Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, Christian Fuchs, Youri Tielemans, Wilfred Ndidi, Cengiz Under, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Jamie Vardy
Liverpool probable XI in a 4-3-3 formation: Alisson Becker (goal), Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ozan Kabak, Fabinho, Andrew Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
The Foxes have a dismal recent history against Liverpool. Leicester have gone through their previous 7 PL outings without a win against their forthcoming visitors and in fact lost six of them. Much in contrast to their impressive away form this season, the Foxes have had a below-par record at home 5W/1D/5L – statistics that have weighed on the UK bookmakers‘ who are wagering on a Liverpool win at the King Power on Saturday despite their poor run of form.
