English Premier League: Leicester City v Southampton Prediction and Preview – King Power stadium – Saturday, January 11, 2020 – 15:00 hrs BST

The Saints will be taking on Leicester City when they visit the King Power stadium on Saturday with the 0-9 home bruising they had to endure at the hands of Brendan Rodgers' men in October, fresh on their minds.

Revenge will be on the Saints' agenda on the afternoon of January 11 and they really seem to be building up for something special if one were to follow their progress in the past couple of months.

From languishing in relegation territory for over a month-and-a-half, Ralph Hasenhuttl's boys have leapt to a decent 12th spot on the back of 4 undefeated Premier League outings.

Out of those four, three have been wins over Aston Villa and top-flight sides Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur and a 2-0 FA Cup win over Huddersfield to boot.

Surprisingly for a side that's second on the EPL table currently and ahead of their weekend rivals by 20 points, the Foxes have only 2 wins to show from their previous five PL outings.

That included a three-match spell where they drew needlessly with bottom-scrapers Norwich City 1-1 and lost 1-3 and 0-4 to Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

But in customary fashion they have rebounded with 1-2 and 0-3 wins over West Ham and Newcastle.

That was followed by a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.

A hunger for goals was what was clearly evident among Brendan Rodgers‘ men with six goals from the last three wins having been struck by separate players – Kelechi Iheanacho, Demarai Gray, Ayoze Perez, James Maddison, Hamza Choudhury and Harvey Barnes.

As an added bonus for the hosts, prime Premier League striker Jamie Vardy could be back for Saturday's King Power action after nursing a calf injury that kept him out of two matches.

Hasenhuttl will depend on Danny Ings (who scored the lone brilliant winner against Tottenham), James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond to give him the attacking edge and bank on the team’s better away games record this season.

The Saints have scored more goals (14) than they have conceded (13) on the road.

With Leicester City having stumbled for the first time this season at “fortress” King Power in their last two games, the visiting Saints would love nothing more than to catch the Foxes in their moment of weakness.

Although Leicester City are expected to run over Southampton and continue their impressive Premier League run this season, there could be goals at either end.

Southampton have scored in all but one of their 11 games after the 0-9 October drubbing to the Foxes.
