Leicester City vs Chelsea Preview
Once touted as title-contenders, Chelsea will be desperately looking to add points on their trip to King Power stadium when they play a buoyant Leicester City on Tuesday night, January 19th.
Frank Lampard's Blues have lost their way after a bright start to the Premier League season, losing in four of their last seven outings and plummeting to the seventh spot from being in the Top three till early December.
At 29 points, the West London outfit are six points adrift of their forthcoming rivals who are through a 5-match unbeaten run.
Goals from James Maddison and Harvey Barnes in a 2-0 home win over Southampton propelled the Foxes to the 3rd spot and on equal points with 2nd-placed Manchester City. Chelsea broke their three-game winless streak after they overcame a lowly Fulham side 1-0 on the back of a late Mason Mount strike.

Leicester talisman Jamie Vardy who limped off in the closing stages of the win over Southampton, is expected to return for Tuesday night's clash and take the place of Dennis Praet upfront. James Justin and Timothy Castagne are expected to maintain their place at the back alongside Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans what with the dependable Caglar Soyuncu still out with a long-term injury.
For Chelsea, N'Golo Kante is back from suspension and fit into his usual midfield role and with Reece James and Andreas Christensen returning from their injuries, Lampard has a fully-fit squad to pick from.
James should come back in for Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back, while Kurt Zouma should fill in for the out-of-favour Anthony Rudiger despite the latter's good show against Fulham. Jorginho is likely to make way for Kante while Tammy Abraham will be preferred to start over Olivier Giroud. Lampard may not want to start with the injury-prone Christian Pulisic and go for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Leicester City probable starting XI:
Schmeichel (goal); Castagne, Fofana, Evans, Justin; Ndidi, Tielemans; Albrighton, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
Chelsea probable starting XI:
Mendy (goal); James, Zouma, Silva, Chilwell; Kante, Kovacic, Mount; Ziyech, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi
Leicester who have had a dismal start ot the season at home, losing four of their five initial outings at the King Power, have recovered to post an impressive 2-2 against an in-form Manchester United and a convincing win over Everton at the venue.
Chelsea's narrow victory over Fulham on Saturday does not inspire confidence as Lampard struggles to get the optimum out of his players. The Foxes are thus tipped to take three points from January 19th's game. However, a desperate Chelsea could turn the corner and eke out a surprise result at the King Power and the odds surprisingly seem to suggest that.
