Leicester City vs Everton – Foxes have the edge over Everton at the King Power
Updated: 23rd September 2023
2020-21 English Premier league preview: Leicester City vs Everton – King Power stadium – Wednesday, 16 December 2020 – 18:00hrs BST
Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City sitting a point below Tottenham and Liverpool in the 3rd place, invite Everton to King Power stadium for a midweek Premier League clash. The Toffees are four points adrift of their forthcoming rivals after having scored an impressive 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
After having suffered defeats to Liverpool and Fulham, the Foxes seemed to have bounced back with wins over Sheffield and Brighton & Hove and progressed to the Round of 32 in the Europa League after defeating AEK Athens 2-0 last week.

While Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez may have recovered from their injuries, coach Carlo Ancelotti may choose not to start with them. On the other hand, Rodgers may still keep Wilfred Ndidi on the bench as he did in the last three games. Defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy may be in for a recall while attacker Harvey Barnes also could back as a replacement for Ayoze Perez.
Leicester City probable starting XI:
Schmeichel (goal); Fofana, Evans, Fuchs; Albrighton, Mendy, Tielemans, Justin; Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
Everton probable starting XI:
Pickford (goal); Holgate, Mina, Keane, Godfrey; Doucoure, Allan, Sigurdsson; Iwobi, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison
After witnessing Everton's rapidly declining form in the month gone by, few would have stuck their necks out for them at the King Power, but with the win over Chelsea last weekend, a tougher battle could be on the cards on Wednesday evening. The hosts' attacking firepower lead by the likes of Jamie Vardy, Barnes, James Maddison and Youri Tielemans could get a bit too hot for the visiting Toffees to handle. But the Foxes' performances at home have been patchy at the best – winning three and losing three so far. So, it could be anybody's game at the King Power on Wednesday evening.
