Manchester United Team News and Form

A United side that started off with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for the first time in ages looked much sprightlier than usual and even the out-of-form Paul Pogba came to life with a brace of goals.

Martial made his presence felt with a goal in the second half and an assist. Rashford also impressed but it looks unlikely that both he and Martial will start off against Wolverhampton given that Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Antonio Valencia were rested for the Berne game and are all likely to be back for the Old Trafford clash on Saturday.

Centre-halves Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof have impressed against consecutive wins against Burnley, Watford and Young Boys, but have looked shaky on occasions, more so Lindelof who has been prone to make critical mistakes at the back.

United seemed to have relied heavily on goal-keeper David De Gea's feats to make up for their defensive lapses. Moreover, the introduction of Marouane Fellaini in a defensive midfield role has helped solidifying a shaky defence and allow the side's attackers to break forward with freedom.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News and Form

Although failing to win their first three Premier League outings, new entrants Wolverhampton Wanderers, have two impressive draws to show against Everton and most significantly, champions Manchester City, away at the Etihad.

Two wins against West Ham and Burnley followed thanks to some relentlessly attacking play. With three center-halves forming the base of an attacking formation, coach Nuno Espírito Santo's 3-4-2-1 formation has found increasing success with each passing game.

The two Portuguese play-makers Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho have thoroughly impressed in recent games and Mexican striker Raul Jimenez is expected to be a big threat to the United goal.

Manchester United V Wolverhampton Who Will Win?

The Wolves have shown great daring both in attack and defense as was evinced their stunning 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho will take the central England club lightly at his own peril and can expect a fight on his hands on Saturday.

United have historically tended to flounder in the League games after their initial Champion League outings but having come out impressively from an unfamiliar synthetic pitch against Young Boys they may feel buoyant going into Saturday's Old Trafford clash.

Alexis Sanchez has a good record against promoted sides having had a hand in as many as 19 goals from his 22 appearances against such opposition.

Bookmakers are wagering heavily on a United win, but don't rule out surprises given the hosts' inconsistent form.
