The Group 4 of League A is all set for a match between table toppers Spain facing bottom-placed Switzerland on Saturday night in Madrid.

For the Swiss, this match could decide if they will make it to further rounds. On the other hand, Spain have shown good form of getting off to a good start in the UEFA Nations league with a well-fought 1-1 draw against Germany in the opener and a 4-0 trouncing of Ukraine, helping them sit on top of the points table.

The Spanish team have been among lot of goals, getting as many as 19 from their last 6 outings which comes to a healthy average of 3.17 per game.

Switzerland's progress in international soccer has been erratic of late with 4 wins 2 losses and a draw coming from their previous 7 fixtures.

They will desperately need to register a win against Spain after having lost to Ukraine and drawn against Germany in the Nations' Leagues fixtures last month and extricate themselves from the bottom of the table.

At an average of 1.83 goals per game, the Swiss are not likely to be much of an attacking threat to Spain.

Spain will probably opt for a  4-3-3 formation that got them success against Ukraine in September. Switzerland would probably go in with a 5-4-1 formation which is a defense-heavy lineup that is supposed to give the team the needed protection against the Spanish attack.

The Swiss will depend particularly on Haris Seferovic to get goals in Madrid.

The striker has found the back of the net 6 times for his country from his last 10 international outings along with a 65 per cent pass completion and 2.5 shots per target per game.

Granit Xhaka will have to come in handy as an attacking midfielder and create as many opportunities as he can.The speedy Breel Embolo will give the two company on the flank.

For Spain, the focus has been on the 17-year old Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati who has impressed with 3 goals in 3 games for his club. He also has 82% success in passes along with 2.2 shots on target per game.

Gerard Moreno who has 5 goals and an assist from his last 7 outings, will be Fati's partner in attack. Moreover, there will be Dani Olmo, an opportunistic finisher, who has 3 goals along and 3 assists from his last 9 appearances.

The presence of the 20-year old Fernan Torres who has impressed so much with Manchester City of late, will give further teeth to the attack.

Jesus Navas will be someone who will give the Spaniards speed and power in the wings while the defense looks rock solid with the likes of Sergio Ramos, Navas, Torres and Sergio Reguilon manning the backline.

The Spaniards are the clear online bookmaker favourites to win the Madrid clash but a desperate Switzerland could upset the odds.

Both teams do not have much of recent history, the latest meeting between the two being a 1-1 draw played out in 2018 and a 0-1 away win for the Swiss way back in 2010.
