Wolverhampton vs. Arsenal Preview

Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves will be desperately looking to put an end to the rot of endless games without wins. The midlands club is yet scent victory since December 21st as they have meandered through eight fixtures without success.

They now prepare to host a resurgent Arsenal who are on a seven-match unbeaten run and have moved swiftly up the table to the 10th from a dismal 15th spot not very long ago.

The Wolves will be coming into the Molineux stadium home game on the back of a 0-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and finishing well into the bottom half of the table on the 14th.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta will be a satisfied man after having earned a point from their encounter against Manchester United on Saturday and that too without some of his key men like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney.

Arsenal Premier League form: W/W/D/W/W/D

Nuno Santo will as usual sorely miss the services of his key figures upfront like Raul Jimenez and Daniel Podence. Adding further to the list of absentees for the club will be Ruben Neves who could be away for family-related issues. Adama Traore could also start for the hosts, but wholesale changes are not expected given the number of absentees.

For Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe may have fitness concerns and looks doubtful for the Molineux clash while Arteta could choose to give his 22-year old signing from Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard, his first start for the Gunners. Saka and Tierney look certain to make it to the starting XI while Aubameyang will remain out for personal reasons.

Wolverhampton Wanderers probable starting XI:

Patricio; Coady, Boly, Kilman; Hoever, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Semedo; Traore, Jose, Neto

Arsenal probable starting XI:

Leno; Cedric, Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Pepe; Lacazette

Arsenal have made massive improvements to their game post-Christmas and with most of their key players returning for the February 2nd clash, it's hard to see them losing this one.

The Wolves had already beaten Arsenal once earlier in the season and will seriously hope for an encore but a defensively-sound Gunners side and their rejuvenated attack would be hard for the hosts to overcome.

Odds are mostly on Arsenal to take three points from the Molineux game on Tuesday night, although one cannot rule out the Wolves' doggedness in forcing a draw.
