Wolverhampton vs Everton Prediction

Everton 2-1: 13/1 (recommended bet) with Bet365

Bet365 – odds quoted were correct as of 11/01/2021 and are subject to change.

Both the Wolves and Everton will be aiming to build on wins in the FA Cup when they lock horns at Molineux for a Premier League clash on Tuesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men ousted Crystal Palace 1-0 to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup while Everton had to fight much harder to overcome a third-division Rotherham United, winning eventually on penalties.

The absence of a striker like Raul Jimenez for some time has been felt at the Molineux with the Wolves going through a four-game losing streak before the win over Palace. With only one victory to show from their last seven Premier league outings, the Wolves have slipped to the 13th in the table and are six places adrift their forthcoming opponents.

Everton too have been struggling for peak form of late. In a brilliant run of four winning games in which they beat the likes of Chelsea, Leicester City and Arsenal, the Toffees narrowly beat a bottom-placed Sheffield United on Boxing day. That was followed by a 0-1 loss to West Ham at home and the narrowest of win over a unfancied Rotterham in the FA Cup.

Wolves' two long-term absentees Jimenez and Jonny Otto are now joined by defenders Fernando Marcal and Wily Boly. Goalkeeper John Ruddy making a rare appearance against Palace will make way for first-choice custodian Rui Patricio for the Tuesday clash. Key forward Daniel Podence sustaining a recent knock also looks doubtful.

For the Toffees, midfielder Allan is out for the month at least and will be joined in the injury list by Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Coach Carlo Ancelotti will in all likelihood bring back goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in place of Jack Olsen who featured in the Rotterham game.

Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina, too, should also return to mind things in the defense. Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will both come back after having been rested against Rotherham.

Wolverhampton Wanderers probable starting XI:

Patricio (goal); Semedo, Coady, Saiss, Ait Nouri; Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker; Traore, Cutrone, Neto

Everton probable starting XI:

Pickford (goal); Coleman, Mina, Holgate, Digne; Doucoure, Davies; Iwobi, Rodriguez, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin

With most of Everton's key players Like James Rodriguez, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewinback back for the January 12 game, a leaky Wolves defense that has let in 24 goals so far, could face a torrid ninety minutes at the Molineux.

Without the likes of Jimenez and Podence upfront the hosts will lack teeth going forward and goals could be hard to come by unless Adama Traore and Petro Neto could produce the kind of form they showed in the FA Cup game against Crystal Palace.
