Olympic Mens 200m Final Preview – Usain Bolt and Blake Clash again

After what was an enthralling 100m final on Sunday evening, there is no time for many of the athlete's to rest or celebrate as they will be competing in the 200m this week.

The battle for a gold medal in this event looks to be between Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake yet again and if anyone is to stop one of these two winning it will take something really special.

Bolt proved himself as one of the best sprinters ever when he retained his 100m title on Sunday evening and he knows he would confirm that status should he win in the final on Thursday evening.

Any rumours that the Jamaican was not 100% fit were quashed as he looked on top form.

Some would even argue that the 25-year-old is a stronger 200m runner than he is in the 100m, which could leave the rest of the pack with no hope.

He will be looking to do something really special and could smash his own world record yet again.

Although Bolt is the big favourite, don't write off Yohan Blake. The young Jamaican has beaten the world record holder already this year running a time of 19.26 in Brussels.

He also took the silver medal in the 100m so looks to be in fantastic form. Blake knows that it will take the run of his life to beat his fellow countryman.

However, even if he is beaten and takes the silver it would be still be a great achievement. Finishing second to the greatest ever is nothing to be ashamed of.

As mentioned, it doesn't look like anyone will be able to stop these two and it would take a poor performance or injury to stop them being the top two.

Wallace Spearman of the United States is a contender though and could take advantage of any poor form. That said though, he is likely to be involved in a very competitive battle for the bronze.

The heats will of course take place during the week before the final on Thursday evening and Blake and Bolt will try to qualify in decent times whilst conserving their energy.

When it comes down to business though, how can you look past the fastest man in the world? Expect Bolt to really set the world alight yet again and show that he is the best that has ever been. Blake will take the silver and it will be a very tight battle for the bronze.
