Bayern Munich run into another hurdle in their quest for the 2019-20 Bundesliga title when they visit the BayArena on the 6th June to face Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bavarian giants inched closer to their 8th consecutive Bundesliga title when they blanked out relegation candidates Fortuna Dusseldorf 5-0 to stay 7 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

Die Roten (The Reds) have won all their 4 fixtures after returning from the break in March.

Leverkusen started well post the break with impressive away wins over Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach but inexplicably stumbled to a 1-4 defeat to Wolfsburg following that.

They however recovered from the shock loss to beat SC Freiburg 0-1 and stay level with Monchengladbach on 56 points for a 5th spot on the table.

While taking on champions Bayern, coach Peter Bosz's will look to his ace forward Kai Havertz to deliver the goods at the BayArena on Saturday.

The young Havertz, who has been linked to possible high-profile moves to top European clubs, has already netted 11 Bundesliga goals this season for Leverkusen.

Besides Havertz, the likes of Kevin Volland (9 goals), Lucas Alanio (6 goals) and Leon Bailey (5 goals) will be the ones to look out for on June 6.

For Bayern coach Hansi Flick, it's been an incredible run since he took over from the sacked Niko Kovac in November.

Under the 55-year old manager, the side has lost only 2 of the 19 League games under him and are on a 19-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

Veteran striker Robert Lewandowski is in sublime form and has already netted 29 Bundesliga goals in the current season for the champions.

With players like Serge Gnabry (11 goals), Phillipe Coutinho (8 goals) and Thomas Muller (7 goals) forming the attack alongside Lewandowski, it's hard to see how Die Roten can be contained at BayArena.

Leverkusen's record at home in the current season doesn't seem to inspire much confidence among their fans. They have won 7 games at the BayArena compared to 10 wins on the road.

There is one statistic that could comfort the hosts. Bayern have won only once in their last 6 trips to Leverkusen.

But the Bundesliga giants are in stupendous form, winning 8 games in a row and scoring aplenty – 28 goals from those outings and 5 clean sheets to boot.

The league leaders will be without the on-loan Phillipe Coutinho and Thiago Alacantra for Saturday's game, but that shouldn't be much of a bother.

Even with a adverse history at Leverkusen, Bayern are the favorites to take the game.
